A Home of Substance

There is nothing that gives a home a feeling of solidity and warmth like natural stone. Whether you use a natural or manufactured product (and there are some very good ones out there) there is a certain timeless quality to a stone façade that is difficult to match with other materials. Our Cayman clients are more and more interested in the way stone works together with other materials inside and outside the home to create some distinction from the sea of Marmirand that surrounds us. As you will see, we are big proponents too.

A common use for a modest amount of stone is in a Port Cochere like the one depicted on the front of this home we built in Salt Creek.

Again, we used stone to accentuate and dramatize an entry experience on this Vista del Mar property. For those who appreciate the look, it is becoming common to use between 250 and 450 sq/ft of stone veneer on the exterior without breaking the budget.

This local Coralstone is a popular choice for walls or to clad a staircase and ground floor. This effect gives this Yacht Club home that we completed in 2012 a sense of solidity and permanence.

The final effect need not be exclusively “Old World” as illustrated by this wonderful use of split stone.
