We don’t often go on record touting one brand of anything over another,
but when it comes to fans we definitely have our preferences! The Big Ass Fan Company makes fans like no
other. They originally got their start making large fans for agricultural and
warehouse facilities, but word of their quality spread and people started
requesting these fan for the larger spaces in their homes and offices. This required a fresh start for BAFC, as the
industrial motors that powered their fan were not well suited for these uses.
What they did was start from scratch and, in fact, they reinvented the fan
motor comprehensively. Just one of their fans can now replace multiple fans and
use 1/3 of the energy doing so! Good looking, energy efficient, quiet and
almost corrosion-free, inside and out! And they outlast the competition making
them worth every extra dollar that they cost.
Come with us as we
enter the Stroh Residence, which Phoenix is just completing, and have a look at
some Big Ass Fan (BAF) installations.
This BAF is designed for large spaces inside or out. Her we
are using it to cool the main foyer of the home:
Regular old ceiling fans have blades.
Big Ass Fans have airfoils. Their patented airfoil and winglet designs are
aerodynamically inspired to maximize air velocities and stabilize air movement
and are made of sustainably harvested Moso bamboo or durable matrix composite.
These Haiku fans we installed inside
(above) and outside below, use 'Thin Sheet airfoils' resulting in smooth silent
airflow at all speeds.
